The weekend brought more international fencing action as athletes competed at the Eurofence League in Kamnik and the U14 Circuit in Sofia. Across épée and sabre events, the competitions delivered a mix of established names and promising young talents stepping onto the podium.

Italian Success in Kamnik Épée
Italy enjoyed an excellent weekend in Kamnik, particularly in the men's épée event, where Riccardo Gera claimed gold after an all-Italian final against Michele Queiroli. The podium also featured Ludovico Curio Galleani of Italy alongside Slovenia’s Jan Golobic, underlining both Italian strength and local representation among the medal winners.

The women’s épée title went to Austria through Gloria-Dahlia Legac, who finished ahead of Francesca Parmesani. Italy once again secured a strong presence on the podium, with Elena Ferracuti and Michela Limonta sharing bronze medals.

International Podiums in Sabre
The men's sabre competition saw Noah Te Velde of the United States take victory, with Axel Richter of Switzerland earning silver. Italy once again celebrated podium finishes thanks to Alvise Ludovico Zanotto and Alessandro Giovanni Laganà, who shared third place.

In women's sabre, Marleen Buitenhuis of the Netherlands captured gold, while Franziska Tanzmeister of Austria secured silver. The bronze medals were shared between Slovenia’s Neja Lebenicnik and Tess Bens of the Netherlands.

Young Talents Shine in Sofia
The U14 Circuit in Sofia highlighted the future of European fencing, with young athletes producing impressive performances in the épée competitions.

In the boys’ event, Poyraz Nuzumlaer of Türkiye climbed to the top step of the podium after defeating Ben Gattenio of Israel in the final. Filip Ioan Savin of Romania and Simeon Serev of Bulgaria completed the medal positions.

The girls’ competition also brought success for Türkiye as Ece Torucu secured the gold medal. Iva Stoyanova of Bulgaria finished second, while Pelin Mutaf of Türkiye and Radostina Kurtakova of Bulgaria shared bronze.

The weekend once again showed the diversity and depth of fencing across Europe, with experienced athletes and young talents alike continuing to make their mark on the piste.
