Cecilia Brunetti
Cecilia Brunetti built a competitive sabre fencing career from 2002 to 2021, earning a regional championship title, the Athlete of Excellence award from the University of Milan, and five consecutive seasons in the top division of the National Team Championships. Alongside competition, she worked as an assistant sabre coach for children and beginners, developing a strong commitment to sport as a vehicle for education, inclusion, and responsibility.
From 2011 to 2019, she served as a national referee in sabre, foil, and épée, a role that deepened her focus on sports ethics and safeguarding. She contributed to the Italian National Olympic Committee and Italian Fencing Federation pilot project on Safeguarding Policy, taking part in drafting regulations, overseeing their implementation at competitions, managing conflicts, and delivering training programs. Since 2019, she has served as Safeguarding Officer of the Italian Fencing Federation.
She is a member of the Boards of Directors of the St. Moritz Fencing Club, where she leads ethics and safeguarding, and the Piccolo Teatro FCA Milano Fencing Club. Holding an Executive Master in Sustainability Management, she is deeply engaged in promoting inclusion, equal opportunities, and gender equality through volunteer work and professional advocacy.
