About

Biljana Kuzmanovska Nikolovska, born on 25 May 1970 in Skopje, North Macedonia, holds a degree in Pedagogy from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University. After early professional experience in private and international companies, including a managerial role in marketing and international trade, she founded her own company in 1998 and later dedicated her career fully to sport.

Her sporting career began in cycling before she achieved historic success in fencing as the first female Macedonian fencer to win an individual épée medal at the Yugoslav Championships, followed by a team gold medal. She was a member of the Yugoslav junior national team until 1991 and later represented North Macedonia at European and Senior World Championships.

Following her competitive career, she became a coach and sports administrator, serving on the Executive Committee of the Macedonian Fencing Federation and founding Fencing Club Escrime Skopje in 2013, now the country’s largest and most successful club. Deeply committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and athlete welfare, she has led programs for children with Down syndrome, organized humanitarian sporting events, completed advanced education in coaching, sport psychology, and safeguarding—including the ICECP with honours—and currently serves on the EFC SafeSport Commission, with extensive experience at major international championships and as an expert contributor to the GUARD safeguarding project.
